About the Role
Calculum is a science-driven fintech company redefining how global enterprises manage working capital. Our AI-powered platform helps organizations analyze payment terms, optimize financial supply chains, and unlock measurable cash flow opportunities.
As our Associate Product Owner, you will be the central, critical bridge between our business stakeholders and our technical development team. You will be immersed in the intersection of three of the most dynamic fields in technology: Artificial Intelligence, Financial Technology (FinTech), and Supply Chain Analytics.
This is not a typical Product Owner role. You will be directly supporting the development of our core AI-powered platform, helping to translate complex financial logic and supply chain data into actionable, value-driven features. You will be empowered to make a real difference, seeing your work directly influence our clients' success and our product's growth. We are looking for a high-potential individual who is eager to learn, meticulously detail-oriented, and ready to fast-track their career in product management.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Product Backlog: You will assist in managing and prioritizing the product backlog, ensuring the development team is always working on the items that deliver the most value to our clients and our business.
- Translate Business Needs: Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders (business, finance, sales) and the technical team. You will be responsible for gathering requirements and translating complex business problems into clear, concise, and actionable user stories with detailed acceptance criteria.
- Champion the User: Serve as the "voice of the customer" to the development team, ensuring they deeply understand the "why" behind what they are building.
- Collaborate with Engineering: Work closely with our data scientists, AI engineers, and software developers in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and backlog refinement sessions.
- Ensure Clarity and Quality: Ensure the development team understands backlog items to the level needed and conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that new features meet functional requirements and quality standards.
- Analyze and Learn: Support the product vision by analyzing market trends, user feedback, and data to identify new opportunities for product enhancement.
Skills & Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant quantitative or technical field, such as Finance, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline with a Computer Science background.
- Demonstrated academic, internship or working experience in a finance, or analytics environment (e.g., significant project work, internships, co-ops, or outstanding academic performance).
- A provable, high-aptitude for analytical and quantitative problem-solving. You must be able to break down complex problems into manageable parts.
- Meticulous attention to detail. You are someone who naturally sweats the small stuff, catches inconsistencies, and believes in getting it right.
- Exceptional communication skills. You can communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and business goals to technical teams with clarity and empathy.
- A foundational understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies (Scrum).
- A genuine passion for technology, particularly in AI, FinTech, and/or data analytics.
What you can expect
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and be able to work on-site in our Miami, FL office (highly desirable).
- Familiarity with AI, machine learning, or data science concepts.
- Specific knowledge of supply chain finance, working capital optimization, or payment processes (e.g., Accounts Payable/Receivable).
- Experience with tools like Azure DevOps.
- AI understanding and experience.
- Basic understanding of SQL or data analysis, Microsoft Excel.
What you can expect
We are committed to building an ambitious, supportive, and diverse team. We offer:
- A highly competitive salary and excellent benefits package.
- A unique opportunity to be mentored by senior leaders and fast-track your career in a high-growth FinTech start-up.
- A collaborative, team-oriented environment with no silos, where your ideas are valued and you are empowered to make a difference.
- The chance to work on cutting-edge AI technology and solve complex, real-world problems for major global companies.
